BLACK GIRL MAGIC
With all that is going on in the world specifically the #metoo, sexual violations, victim shaming from both men and women, I really want to sort of woooohhhhhh saaaahhhhhh!! with this blog post. As we count down to the last few hours of November, I want to bring up the many times SISTAHS shone their LIGHT... THAT BLACK GIRL MAGIC. Let's go!
Photo Courtesy of Creative Soul Photography. I have always been a fan of this Husband and wife team. I am an avid believer of creating stories that dispel the popular and widely accepted version of beauty. kids of color should be able to open up a book, turn on on the TV and see a positive and diverse representation of them. Looking forward to the coffee table book for this series. Go to their page and check this amazing series out here
Obviously, body shamers are never tired and sadly they come in all shape, race, gender and age. This Georgia news anchor Laura Warren was body shamed for wearing a form fitting dress while pregnant. I love how Gabrielle Union shut them down by not only making this lady a WCW but she sent her several fit from her New York and company collection. So what does one gain in body shaming their fellow human... I will never get it. Say no to bullying and body shaming.
"My Life is Mine" - Tracee Ellis Ross
FINALLY! Check out the Tracee Ellis Ross's speech (at the GLAMOUR WOMEN OF THE YEAR AWARD) about being made to feel worthless even they have accomplished the whole world except the Big ol' M word that rhymes with carriage. Every speech was amazing. It's an amazing 2 hour experience. I can't embed the whole thing but I'll share the website with you here. Until next time BEYOUTIFUL!!!
